For timing your journey, it takes about 2 hours to reach Die Laaitjie from Cape Town. Once you pass Robertson, the last part of the journey is only 6 km long, but due to the mountainous road, takes about 20 minutes.

From Cape Town, take the N1 north towards Paarl and proceed through the Huguenot Tunnel to Worcester. Take the turning marked R60 Worcester/Robertson, and follow the signs to the R60 through Worcester.
Remain on the R60 at Robertson, and once you reach the outskirts of Robertson, stay on the road past the town until you come to a traffic circle with vines in the middle, with signs for Bonnievale, Ashton, Montagu and Robertson. Take the left-hand exit marked Robertson. The road you are now on ends at Die Laaitjie’s house, so do not turn off this road whatever you do.

You will pass along the edge of Robertson, and through the local worker’s village. The tarred road ends, and continues as gravel, past a quarry on your left, and Keurkloof to the right. The road then climbs up into the hills. Be aware that the road is very twisty, so drive very carefully. You will pass a huge dam to your left, and the entrance of Dassieshoek Nature Reserve on the right. Keep going into the hills and you will see the gates of Die Laaitjie.
